Crabgrass Celebrates 30 Years!

In February, 1982, in a basement in San Francisco, Jamie Keithline and Bonny Hall began work on their first collaboration, bringing two stories to life using masked actors and life-sized puppets. What a Clever Idea! (Stories for Puppets and People) had its premiere in August of that year at Camp Beaverbrook in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Since then, Jamie and Bonny have created over 20 full-length productions! But we're not resting on our laurels quite yet:

Crabgrass Puppet Theatre is very excited to announce our newest project:

Jack and the Beanstalk

Crabgrass Puppet Theatre's hilarious retelling of the tallest of tales is full of fun and loaded with laughs. Colorful scenery, exciting puppetry and a delightful musical score combine to create a giant-sized entertainment for all ages. Jack and the Beanstalk is the second of our Crabgrass Sprouts productions, smaller shows especially designed for smaller spaces and smaller crowds, but with the same big Crabgrass impact!

This honor was repeated in 2005 with the receipt of a second UNI award for The Bremen Town Musicians. In 2008, Bonny received a Commendation for Design in the Puppet Theatre by the Arlyn Award Foundation for The Day It Snowed Tortillas.
